How Bevo and Nuovo Started:

Growing up, I always thought that good health was a matter of genetics or access to top-notch healthcare. But my travels to Europe and Asia taught me otherwise. It was during my visits to London to see my older sister and my travels around Italy with her friends that I discovered a surprising fact: many Italians had incredibly healthy lifestyles, and they tended to live as long as Singaporeans, despite the differences in healthcare systems.

The secret to their long and healthy lives? Their diet. The Mediterranean diet, which is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish, and olive oil, is a staple of the Italian lifestyle. This diet is low in processed foods, sugar, and unhealthy fats, and has been shown to lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other chronic illnesses. I was struck by the fact that such a simple change in diet could have such a profound impact on health and wellness.

But it wasn't just the diet that impressed me. When I met up with a friend in Singapore after my travels, he told me about his own experience with the benefits of clean water. After developing eczema patches and discovering that he was allergic to chlorine, he started drinking purified water from a water purifier. But even the purified water tasted bad to him, so he switched to bottled water instead.

When he eventually dismantled the water purifier to see what was inside, he discovered that the filter was clogged with sediment and dirt. This made me realize that even though Singapore's tap water is clean, it can still become contaminated with rust and sediment as it travels through the pipes. This was a wake-up call for me, as I realized that many Singaporeans may be unknowingly drinking contaminated (rust & sediments) water and putting their health at risk.

As I reflected on these experiences, I began to realize the importance of prevention in maintaining good health. By adopting a healthy diet and making sure that we have access to clean, pure water, we can help our bodies stay healthy and avoid the need for expensive medical treatments down the line. That's why I'm passionate about promoting healthy living and overall wellness for all Singaporeans. After all, as the saying goes, "health is the greatest wealth."
